Project: £350,000 New Stores Building
WMS Ltd were appointed to provide a Design Build solution of a new stores facility for FMCKSL Ltd in Aberdeen.
The 600 sq metre building, including several additional features, was delivered within the original timescales and within budget.
The building had to be designed to meet rigorous planning conditions requiring a 15% reduction in CO2 emmissions over that required by current Building Regulation Standards. These were comfortably exceeded, achieving an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B+.

WMS have been appointed to improve access and operational safety of FMCKSL's Test Pit.
The test pit, which is 6m square and 6m deep, is used by FMC during pressure testing of components and assemblies.
Our brief is to provide safer access for personnel to enter and leave the pit, replace and improve handrailing surrounding the pit and to improve crash barrier protection in the event of accidential collisions by forklifts. Repairs to the floor of the pit and improved drainage channels are also included to remove trip hazards.
We have also been tasked with designing and supplying emergency retrieval equipment in the event of an accident or illness befalling personnel working in the pit, to expedite safe and speedy retrieval by their colleagues on the surface without others having to access the pit.

The Piling Operation began in Earnest today at FMC, on the Phase 3 major Capital Expansion Project. The Client's require a 7m deep testing pit to carry out pressure testing on their equipment in a HYDRO-STATIC environment. The Piling, initially installed prior to excavation, will form a permanent shutter around which the pit will be constructed.
